Gentlemen… Big news, the Assembly's good friends at the Traditional Cycle Shop (Stratford Upon Avon) and Pashley are hosting the first ever "Pashley Picnic Ride" on Sunday 3rd of June….

Keep the date clear in your diarys … more details will be coming, and we'll try and keep you all informed as we hear the details from our friends at the Trad.

Mr KK,

Are you a Royal Guard? I thought the old Q wanted us all to celebrate her big day. In an unusual act of organisation Mrs Adam and I are booked in Stratford for the weekend.

I must say it would be jolly good to re-new our acquaintance that weekend.

Regards,

Adam.

Nope, I'm not a Royal Guard sir. However my job does require me to be at my station while the rest of the population are basking in the reflected glory of Her Maj. I'd not actually realised it was the celebration weekend – that will make it all the harder to get the day off.   I can but try. Perhaps one of my colleagues is a republican and would do me a swap…

‘Sehr geehrte Herren’ of the Guvnor Assembly

Being more than glad having been informed by Mr Alex that the typical GA member is sensitive to the point of courtesy but not to the point of prudery (t h e  ideal combination of any gentleman’s – or in fact any lady’s –  character traits, methinks) and just quickly noting on the behalf of ‘that jersey’ that I feel I must be contented to admire these distinguished gentlemen sporting that splendid Guvnor Logo on their goodly manly chests for the time being (“yet what promising prospects!” thinks she), I would like to address you with a concern related to the Stratford Picnic Ride (I am certain that I shall succeed without too much frivolity and exuberance).

Vague rumour has it that there might actually be a Guv’nor gathering already before the actual Picnic Ride on Sunday, i.e. some jolly ride to some place or another (*shh, a pub, has been suggested, apparently) the day before, i.e. on Saturday.

Therefore, may I enquire the Assembly whether anything has already been confirmed and agreed on by any GA authorities for Saturday the 2nd of June?

Yours respectfully, «the Mamzelle»

Good Evening Miss Zweirad,

To date I am aware that Mr MGcC, Mrs Adam and myself are indeed already confirmed to be arriving on the Saturday beyond that I think matters are a little hazy, although a gathering of more than one Guvnor rider does tend to gravitate towards a good public house. It just so happens we know of a nice place a few miles out of the Town Centre.

We have a few details to put in place regarding the Saturday but hopefully we shall be able to "firm-up" in the not too distant future.

Regards,

Adam

Evening Gentlemen and Mamzelles … a ride out to that aforementioned public house would be a rather marvelous idea (My Garmin GPS was busy tracking our every movement that day, so I think I could find the electronic map of where we stopped for  … err… cough… cycle refreshments ! Wink )

Hello Adam hello Mr MGcC hello other chaps and ladies.

I called the Pashley shop last week [wanted to book train tickets etc] and was told updates will be made public via the [www] in due time but just like the Tweed run it will be by application

I hope i heard correctly: So no matter how many Pashley riders on the Globe it will be form filling and emails back and forth…

Guess what only 250 places

So I for one live in hope

But im sure the GA will be well represented

I mean an inaugural Pashley Picnic Ride and no GA team

staggers belief…..

Regards

Tony

Good Evening Gentlemen,

You guys across the pond have ALL the fun! This event sounds spectacular. I think I speak for all of us from the rebel colonies, "We are green with envy."

How I wish I could be a part of this gathering of dignified gentlemen, and their fair ladies, whose every action speaks of gentility, artistic awareness, and decorum. I am sure that Mr. Adam will set the bar high so that all who straddle a Guv'nor will do so with the utmost propriety and social grace, elevating the masses to new standards of culture and refinement. I am heartbroken I will not be a part of it.

Padre
