Limited Edition Tweed Carradice Saddlebags

by Adam on 12, January, 2012

This delicious limited edition bag has came to my attention today, what can I say? Produced from a limited edition beeswax-proofed Harris Tweed, so not only good for transporting one’s essentials but a quick rub and a Gentleman’s moustache can be brought under control (although I am a little unsure what this would look like to a passer by?). Each bag is cut and sewed by Mary, who, rightly has numbered and signed each one.

“So where can we purchase these fine accessories from?” I hear the call from the bike shed, Carradice are taking a grand total of ten of the Alston design (under saddle design), and sixteen of the Barley (above picture) to the London Bike Show for purchase from the stand.

The chap from Carradice has not yet finished working out the costs but he expects the Alston to be around £45 and the Barley will be “in three figures”. I’m afraid even in these austere times I would not have too much trouble justifying three figures.

Kind thanks to Road.cc for bringing this fine item to my attention

Oh, bad luck Mr Fenrir. I’d have still hot-footed it over to Excel this morning, if I was you!

Harris Tweed + Carradice = perfect combination. My fellow cycling chum and tweed enthusiast said that ‘he would cry if he were to clap eyes on these beauties’. I’m inclined to agree with him.

Adam Hello,
I just uploaded a small post on the company. I saw this bag. I wanted to purchase it but i have already spent this months extra income on some of ‘Rapha’ goods. Some jeans and their large shoulder bag.
If I had purchased this magnificent saddle bag.
I wonder what the family would eat this month. Cycling is fun but sure can be costly.
Have a good weekend sir.
p.s. good work on the site as always.
regards
Tony.

Morning Tony,

So good you had to say it twice.

I’m sure the family would understand a little bread and water after you placed the Carradice in the middle of the family dining table and explained that they could metaphorically feast their eyes whilst their stomachs went without.

That bloody Rapha sale it’s a killer isn’t it?

One & All,

Just a quick heads-up. Carradice of Nelson, at the time of this posting, still have some of these bags available.

Alston at £50 and Barley at £120 plus p&p., if interested suggest you phone (01282 615886) to check stock levels first.

Safe rides, DW.
